Seeing the lack of risk-taking and new Black voices in corporate publishing, I launched Black Heroics Book Co. to make my own space away from the bullshit.

In the same way money has corrupted politics, I believe it’s slowly destroying art. This is my attempt, however small, at correcting that, for Black books especially.

Therefore, my interest isn’t in attention or popularity but in platforming the kinds of bold ideas and imaginative Black literature corporate publishers have historically ignored.

In other words, I’m not here to turn a profit. I’m here to be Black, heroic and dope!
